Saving Files from Spread Designer

When you are satisfied with your spreadsheet design you can save the spreadsheet file you have created or apply the changes to the fpSpread control.

For information about applying changes to the control, see Applying Changes from Spread Designer to the Control.

For instructions for saving your spreadsheet to different formats, see the following topics.

To save to this format . . . See . . .
Spread file (proprietary, binary file) Saving to a Spread File
Tab-delimited or other delimited text file Saving to a Text File
Excel-formatted file Exporting to an Excel-Formatted File
HTML file Exporting to an HTML File
XML file Exporting to an XML File

Caution: If you do not save or apply your changes, all your changes will be lost.

Tip: You might want to save your spreadsheet as a Spread (.SS8) file in addition to exporting it to HTML or XML so that you can open the Spread (.SS8) file for future modifications.

Note: If you exit the Spread Designer without choosing Save or Apply first, you might or might not be prompted to apply your changes, depending on how you have set up your Spread Designer environment. For more information, see Applying Changes from Spread Designer to the Control.
