Design Time Interaction > Visual Editing Mode |
To enter True DBList's visual editing mode, right-click anywhere on the list to display the context menu, then click Edit. The appearance of the list does not change; however, when you move the mouse over the column headers, column dividers, or row dividers, the mouse pointer changes to indicate that the object can be selected or resized.
For TDBCombo controls with ComboStyle set to 0 - Dropdown Combo or 2 - Dropdown List, the list portion of the control will drop down upon entering visual editing mode, and will close upon exiting this mode.
To exit visual editing mode, select another control or click anywhere on the form outside the list. The next time you right-click the list, the context menu will appear, not the visual editing menu.
You can use visual editing mode to interactively perform any of the following tasks:
Create and delete columns and splits.
Move and resize columns within the list.
Move columns to and from the Clipboard.
Adjust the list's row height.
Save the current list layout to a file.
Load and remove list layouts stored in a file.
The following sections provide step-by-step instructions for using visual editing mode.
