The Vertical Alignment or Equal Distribution option for a cell can be enabled only when GDI+ Compatibility Mode is set. For example, you can use the following settings and enable Equal Distribution for a cell.

Set Equal Distribution or any text in TextBoxCell.Value property.
Set TextBoxCell.Style.TextAdjustment property to Distribute.
Set TextBoxCell.Style.UseCompatibleTextRendering property to True.
