The VSReport8 Designer is an application that can create, edit, load, and save report definition files. Report definition files are XML files that may contain multiple reports, and can be read directly by the VSReport8 control.
The Designer can import report definitions from Microsoft Access MDB files and from VSReport 1.0 VSR files. Note that importing from MDB files requires Microsoft Access to be present on the computer at the time the files are imported.
The Designer has a user interface similar to the Microsoft Access report designer, including a Wizard used to create new reports.
The primary user of the Designer will be the developer. While it may be beneficial in some applications for the end-user to have access to the designer, it is licensed on a per-seat basis, and thus may require additional licenses for distribution to end-users.
The Designer was written using the VSReport8 and VSPrinter8 controls. It does not use any "undocumented" properties or methods, so anything the Designer does, your applications can do.
