VSView Reporting Edition can be installed by downloading it from http://www.componentone.com or by using the ComponentOne CD and walking through the installation wizard. When you are prompted, enter your serial number and complete the online registration.
The following files will be installed into your Windows\Help directory:
VSPrint8.chm |
Contains the VSPrinter8 online help topics. |
VSRpt8.chm |
Contains the VSReport8 online help topics. |
The following files will be installed into your Windows\System32 directory or, if you use Windows NT, into your WinNT\System and WinNT\System32 directories. To use VSReport8 in your Visual Basic projects, you must include these files in the project:
VSRpt8.ocx |
Contains the VSReport8 ActiveX control. |
VSPrint8.ocx |
Contains the VSPrinter8 ActiveX control. |
The ComponentOne Studio for ActiveX installation program will create the following directory: C:\Program Files\ComponentOne\Studio for ActiveX. This directory contains the following subdirectories:

Note: If you are using a 64-bit machine and need to use ComponentOne ActiveX controls in Visual Studio, you must install both the 32-bit and 64-bit version of the controls. |
Samples for the product are installed in the ComponentOne Samples folder by default. The path of the ComponentOne Samples directory is slightly different on Windows XP and Windows 7/Vista machines:
Windows XP path: C:\Documents and Settings\<username>\My Documents\ComponentOne Samples
Windows 7/Vista path: C:\Users\<username>\Documents\ComponentOne Samples
