ComponentOne Spell 8.0 for ActiveX
To Dump an Existing Main Dictionary
  1. Click the button next to the Dictionary File box and select the dictionary file you want to dump into a text file.

  2. Click the button next to the Text File box and select the name and location of the text file you want to create. If the file already exists, it will be overwritten.

  3. Click the Dump Dictionary to Text File button.

  4. Click the x button on the top right of the window to close the utility.

The text file generated by the DICTUTIL program contains one word per line. Each line ends with a carriage return and a line-feed character (vbCrLf). The last character of the file is an end-of-file character (ASCII code decimal 26 or Control Z).

Note that not all dictionaries may be dumped. If the dictionary was created with the Protection option enabled (the Allow Others to Dump Dictionary checkbox deselected) then you will not be able to dump the dictionary. If you plan to use the Protection option, make sure you save the words used to create the dictionary.
