With the exception of the Values page, all property pages use property trees to depict the object model of the list or one of its collections. Property trees are similar to the list of folders displayed in the left pane of Windows Explorer. Just as folders preceded by a plus sign contain other folders, property tree nodes preceded by a plus sign represent subobjects with their own set of editable properties. To expand a subobject node and view its properties, click the adjacent plus sign or double-click the node's name or icon. The following illustration shows the General property tree for a list with its CaptionStyle property expanded.
Note that when a property tree node is expanded, the plus sign changes to a minus sign. To collapse an expanded node, click the minus sign or double-click the node's name or icon.
Property trees use the following icons to help you identify properties and objects more readily:
A collection object or a member of a collection.
A string, number, color, font, or picture property.
An enumerated property.
A Boolean property with a value of True.
A Boolean property with a value of False.
