Follow these instructions to add the True DBInput 8.0 Migration Utility to the VBIDE:

1. Register the tdbi6mu.dll file and add the following entry point to the “vbaddin.ini” file under your local Windows folder.

   tdbi6mu.connect=0

2. Start up Visual Basic and select Add-In Manager from the Add-Ins menu.

3. The Add-In Manager dialog box will appear. Check the box labeled True DBInput 8.0 Migration Utility and then press OK.

4. The True DBInput 8.0 Migration Utility menu item will be added to the Add-Ins menu, and a button icon will be placed on the toolbar.

After you have added the True DBInput 8.0 Migration Utility to the list of available add-ins, you can use it by following these steps:

1. Be sure to make backup copies of any projects that you plan to convert.

2. Open a project that contains versions of True DBInput 5.0 controls. Note that if no projects are loaded, the Migration Utility will NOT proceed.

3. Click on the True DBInput 8.0 Migration Utility icon on the toolbar or the True DBInput 8.0 Migration Utility item from the Add-Ins menu.

4. The Migration Utility starts up and takes you through the following steps before beginning the migration process. Note that if the active project has unsaved changes or doesn’t contain any old True DBInput controls, the Migration Utility will not proceed.

Note: In order to migrate the existing controls, the new True DBInput 8.0 controls must be registered correctly.
