Field Visibility

You may find it necessary to vary field visibility when switching between query and results modes.

It is always possible to change the collection returned by the Fields property explicitly in code, in the WillOpenData event that occurs before QueryMode changes. Once this is done, you can do anything you want, for example, set a field's Visible property.

But in most cases, it is sufficient to specify that a certain field should appear only in query mode, only in result mode, or in both modes. This can be done easily with the field’s QueryMode property, which is accessible on the Fields property page. Its possible values are:

0 – Both	Field appears in both modes
1 – Query only	Field appears only in query mode
2 – DataSource only	Field appears only in result mode
