Data Access Modes > User Events Mode > True DataControl User Event Mode and True DBGrid Unbound Mode > Differences in the UserFindData event |
The UserFindData event differs from the UnboundFindData event of True DBDropDown 8.0 in the following:
There is no IncludeCurrent argument. It is not needed; the search always starts with the current record.
The NewLocation argument is passed to the event procedure as an empty variant (in TDBDropDown it is initially Null). If the record is not found, the NewLocation argument should be set to Null. Leaving it empty means that the UserFindData event is not implemented or the field for which it is called does not allow optimal search. In that case True DataControl will perform an exhaustive search to find the search record.
The SeekFlags arguments can contain a combination of SeekFlagsEnum constants.
