The appearance of each data series is determined by properties in the DataSeries class: Symbol and Connection. These properties affect different parts of the chart depending on the chart type.
The Symbol template determines the shape, size, outline, marker, and fill properties of the symbols drawn at each data point. This property applies to chart types that display symbols, such as Line, Area, and XYPlot charts. The Symbol property also controls the appearance of the bars in Bar and Column charts.
The connection template is used for visualizing the data series as a single visual such as line connecting the data points. This template allows you to set the shape, size, outline, and fill properties of, for example, the lines connecting data points in a Line chart.
