ReadOnly Property (EditBase)

Gets or sets a value that indicates whether this control is read-only.
Syntax
'Declaration

Public Property ReadOnly As Boolean
'Usage

Dim instance As EditBase
Dim value As Boolean

instance.ReadOnly = value

value = instance.ReadOnly
public bool ReadOnly {get; set;}

Property Value

true if the control is read-only; otherwise, false.
The default is false.
Remarks
When this property is set to true, the contents of the control cannot be changed by the user at run time. With this property set to true, you can still set the value of the Text property in code. You can use this feature instead of disabling the control with the System.Windows.Forms.Control.Enabled property to allow the contents to be copied and ToolTips to be shown.
