NORM.S.DIST

This function returns the standard normal cumulative distribution function.

Syntax

NORM.S.DIST(value,cumulative)

Arguments

This function has these arguments:

Argument Description
value A numeric value for which you want the distribution
cumulative A logical value that determines the form of the function. If cumulative is TRUE, the function returns the cumulative distribution function; if FALSE, it returns the probability mass function

Remarks

The distribution has a mean of zero and a standard deviation of one.

Use this function in place of a table of standard normal curve areas.

If value is nonnumeric, the #VALUE! error value is returned.

Data Types

Accepts numeric data for value. Accepts TRUE or FALSE for cumulative. Returns numeric data.

Examples

NORM.S.DIST(F1,TRUE)

NORM.S.DIST(R1C6,TRUE)

NORM.S.DIST(1.288,TRUE) gives the result 0.901127
