Creating and Customizing a Number Cell

Overview

By default, the Spread control uses the regional Windows settings for the default characters to display the thousands separator and the decimal character. If you want to specify the format characters used to display the thousands separator and the decimal character, to display a leading zero in values between 1.0 and –1.0, to display spin buttons, or to specify the negative style, see Formatting a Number Cell.

You can specify the maximum and minimum values allowed in the cell. In addition, you can specify whether to display the separator character used to separate groups of thousands digits (for example, the comma in "1,000"). You can also specify the number of decimal digits to display.

You can specify the horizontal and vertical alignment of data in the cell. You can also specify whether negative numbers display in red.

You can specify the orientation of the text in a cell. You can display text in the cell horizontally or vertically. If the text orientation is vertical, you can specify that text wraps from right to left or left to right. You can also rotate text 90, 180, or 270 degrees from the horizontal position.
