| Building and Maintaining Dictionary Files > To Build a New Main Dictionary |
Click the button next to the Text File box and select the text file containing the list of words that will be used to build the dictionary.
Click the button next to the Dictionary File box and select the name and location of the new dictionary file you want to create. If the file already exists, it will be overwritten.
Click the Build Dictionary from Text File button.
Click the x button on the top right of the window to close the utility.
When the build is complete, the new, main dictionary will contain the words from the text file.
When creating a text file that will be used to build a dictionary, remember these rules:
The text file must have one word per line.
Each line must end with a carriage return and a line-feed character (vbCrLf).
The last character of the file must be an end-of-file character (ASCII code decimal 26 or Control Z).
The words do not have to be in alphabetical order.
Case is not important.
Duplicate words will be detected and replaced with a single entry.
