Before any words can be checked, the MainDictFile property of the VSSpell control must be set to contain the complete path and filename of the main dictionary file. This may be done in design mode or at run time. If a path and filename are not specified, the control will search for the default main dictionary filename (vssp_ae.dct) in the current directory, the Windows directory, the System directory, any directories in the MS-DOS Path environment variable or any mapped network directories.
