ComponentOne List 8.0 for ActiveX
Property Page Overview

True DBList Pro utilizes a tree view property page interface that adds object browsing features to the standard property page model. Properties are grouped and displayed using tree controls that fully outline the object models of TDBList or TDBCombo, enabling you to set almost all properties at design time with minimal typing. This new property tree model, which is used in all property pages except Values, easily accommodates the ever-increasing set of properties supported by the list and its collection objects.

When you select an item in the property tree, a brief description of the selected property appears below the tree itself, and the controls displayed to the right of the tree change to match the data type and current value of the selected property. For example, if you select a Boolean property such as AlternatingRowStyle, the page displays True and False option buttons and selects the appropriate one. If you select a string property such as Caption, the page displays an edit control and fills it with the caption string, if any.

Property trees also provide a context menu for navigating the object hierarchy, accessing context-sensitive help, and copying values from one property to another. You can also use the context menu to apply the value of a column or split property to all other members within the collection.
