Features of the TDBDTCalcX Object

This section describes the following TDBDTCalcX object features:

Calculating Fixed Days per Month, Hours per Day

The TDBDTCalcX object features the ability to calculate and initialize date amounts. Unlike Visual Basic’s date functions, this feature allows you to set the DaysPerMonth property to determine the fixed days that will make up one month, and the HoursPerDay property to determine how many hours make up one day. These properties affect the calculation of results such as years and months when calling the CalcValue, GetTotals, and InitValue methods. This becomes very effective when thinking in terms of amounts such as man-month calculations rather than actual calendar date values. See the sample for more information.

Date Value Calculation

You can use the TDBDTCalcX object to add or subtract the internal amount of dates mentioned in the previous section, from a valid date time value by calling the DTCalc method. This becomes very effective when working with schedules that calculate the exact date and time, depending on the total amount of time required for all the necessary tasks. See the sample for more information.

To exclude all holidays and weekends, you must use the TDBHolidayX object with the TDBDTCalcX object.

Flexible Business Calculations

The TDBDTCalcX object provides the flexibility needed to perform business calculations such as man-month and overtime figures, and much more. Simply using the functions provided in this object enables you to enhance and extend your business world.
