ComponentOne True DataControl 8.0 > Redistributable Files |
ComponentOne True DataControl is developed and published by ComponentOne LLC. You may use it to develop applications in conjunction with Microsoft Visual Studio or any other programming environment that enables the user to use and integrate the control(s). You may also distribute, free of royalties, the following Redistributable Files with any such application you develop to the extent that they are used separately on a single CPU on the client/workstation side of the network:
TRUEDC8.OCX
xadb8.OCX
TDBWSnk6.dll
You can only provide your users with run-time capabilities. It is illegal to distribute any part of True DataControl for development purposes. Unlike True DataControl, you can freely distribute True DataControl Lite as freeware.
You can use the Application Setup Wizard to create a setup program for your application, or you can do it manually. Application Setup Wizard includes all components needed by True DataControl in your application setup program automatically. If you choose not to automate this process, you will need the following information for enabling True DataControl run-time functionality on your users’ systems.
True DataControl depends on three DLLs for its run-time functionality:
TRUEDC8.OCX |
True DataControl. For True DataControl Lite, the file is TDCL8.OCX. |
xadb8.OCX |
ComponentOne XArrayDB Object. Must be registered on the user system, if you use True DataControl in memory array mode (DataMode = 1 – Memory Array). |
TDBWSnk6.dll |
Auxiliary DLL. Must be registered on the user system, if True DataControl is used with Visual Basic 6.0. (This file is not used in True DataControl Lite.) |
All three DLLs must be registered on the user system with REGSVR32.EXE.
True DataControl also depends on the VBScript functionality enabled on the user machine:
VBSCRIPT.DLL |
Microsoft VBScript DLL |
The VBScript DLL is installed, for example, when you install Microsoft Internet Explorer on your system.
True DataControl does not depend on any other products, such as MFC DLLs, or other non-system DLLs.
End-users of your applications are not licensed to use True DataControl for development, and may not redistribute any of the above control files.
You are not licensed to distribute any True DataControl file to users for development purposes. You are not allowed to add or transfer the True DataControl serial number to the registry of your users' computer(s).
In particular, if you create a control using a True DataControl component as a constituent control, you are not licensed to distribute the control you created with the True DataControl component to users for development purposes.
It is your responsibility to make such restrictions clear to your users.
Site licenses are available for groups of multiple developers. Please contact Sales@ComponentOne.com for details.
