ComponentOne Query requires Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or better to be installed on the user’s computer. It is not necessary to have Internet Explorer available as a standalone application. C1Query uses only the kernel Internet Explorer functionality, freely redistributable and included by default in the operating systems such as Windows 2000, Windows 98 and Windows ME. For other Windows operating systems, you can check the presence of the necessary DLLs, such as MSHTML.DLL, SHDOCVW.DLL, and so on, and if they are not present or are outdated (before version 4.0), install Internet Explorer or its kernel functionality components.
ComponentOne Query also uses Microsoft XML parser. Installing Internet Explorer 5.0 or better ensures that the XML parser is available. The parser can also be downloaded from the Microsoft Web site at http://msdn.microsoft.com/xml/.
