SetUp Files

ComponentOne Query 8.0 can be installed by downloading ComponentOne Studio Enterprise from www.componentone.com or using the ComponentOne Studio CD and walking through the installation wizard. When you are prompted, enter your serial number and complete the online registration. You may register any other ComponentOne products for which you have purchased a serial number at this time as well.

The following files will be installed into your Windows\System32 directory or, if you use Windows NT, into your WinNT\System and WinNT\System32 directories. To use Query 8.0 in your Visual Basic projects, you must include these files in the project:

C1Query8.ocx

Contains the Query 8.0 controls.

c1qschg8.dll

Unbound mode support DLL for use with C1Query8.ocx.

C1QUERY80UI.OCX

Contains the C1QueryUI controls.

The ComponentOne Studio for ActiveX installation program will create the following directory: C:\Program Files\ComponentOne\Studio for ActiveX. This directory contains the following subdirectories:

Query 8.0: Contains sample projects and a README.TXT file with information about the Query 8.0 library.

Utilities: Contains conversion utility for upgrading projects from version 7.0 to 8.0.

Note: If you are using a 64-bit machine and need to use ComponentOne ActiveX controls in Visual Studio, you must install both the 32-bit and 64-bit version of the controls.
