To install and use ActiveReports 9, you need the following hardware and software.
Hardware requirements (minimum)
- Hard drive space: 200 MB available
- CD Drive: For CD package only
Software requirements
- Operating System: Windows® XP, Windows ™ Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 and 8.1, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2012 or Windows Server 2012 R2
- Microsoft® .NET Framework Version: 3.5 SP1, 4.0, 4.5 or 4.5.1
- .NET Framework Client Profile: 3.5, 4.0, 4.5 or 4.5.1

Microsoft Visual Studio: 2010, 2012, 2013 or 2015.
Note: - The Express Editions of Visual Studio do not work with ActiveReports, as they do not support packages.
- ActiveReports supports Visual Studio Community 2015 beginning with ActiveReports 9.3.xxxx.x and above.
- For Web deployment: IIS 7.0, 7.5, 8.0, 8.5 and ASP.NET (version to match the .NET Framework version)
- Flash Player: Adobe Flash Player 11, 12 and 13

Browser: Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 or higher, Mozilla Firefox 20 or higher, Google Chrome 30 or higher and Mobile Safari (iOS 6 and higher)
Note: Microsoft Silverlight 4 Tools is required for the application development with the ActiveReports Silverlight Viewer.
